You have the choice to choose offers that are completely free, which pay you between $0.50-$5.00 and there are some offers where if you want to purchase products or services you will receive higher payouts in excess of about $25.00 per offer. When you read the emails all you have to do is hit the "confirm read email" link and you are instantly credited, you don't have to complete the offer in the email or really even read it just scroll down and hit the link. Once your account accumulates a minimum of $30.00 you can request a payment which will come in the form of a check. Once my account reached $30.00 I requested my check and I actually got one and it was a legitimate check. I deposited it in my bank account and it got cleared without a problem. It does take about a month or so after requesting your check to receive it, but it does come. If you fill out one survey per day(which is all you are allowed to do survey wise) and confirm those paid emails you will be able to request a check every month.
